Building Collapse in Clarksville Seriously Injures Three

CLARKSVILLE, MD – The collapse of a riding stable under construction has left three workers seriously injured.

Rescuers, paramedics and special operations personnel were dispatched to the 5000 block of Chamblis Drive in Clarksville for a reported building collapse with people injured.

Fire & Rescue personnel arrived to find three patients, all of whom were reportedly working on the roof of a stable under construction, suffering from severe injuries. A state police medevac helicopter was requested to transport two of these patients to Shock Trauma; the third was transported by ambulance to the same hospital.

A total of eight patients were evaluated and treated for minor injuries by emergency medical personnel, but only the three patients were transported.

According to fire service personnel, preliminary reports that the roof trusses may have given way. No one was trapped in the collapse.
