Firefighters ventilate the house while battling the blaze.
LAUREL, MD – Firefighters from four counties battled heavy fire in a two story single family house this morning.
At approximately 7:30 AM, firefighters were dispatched to a fire alarm in North Laurel. As units were responding to the fire alarm, other units, including firefighters from Prince George’s, Anne Arundel and Montgomery counties, were dispatched to a reported house fire in the 9300 block of North Gate Road. Due to the severity of the reported house fire, firefighters responding to the fire alarm diverted to the house fire. Units quickly arrived to find fire showing from the roof of a two story, single family house and requested additional resources.
Personnel mounted an aggressive interior attack, and promptly brought the blaze under control. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
