JESSUP, MD – A tractor trailer hauling a sea container loaded with wood overturned on Interstate 95 near Route 175, blocking three of the four lanes on the interstate.
At approximately 1:15 PM, rescuers and paramedics were dispatched to a report of an overturned tractor trailer on Interstate 95 near Route 32. Units arrived to find the crash, which was closer to Route 175, and the tractor trailer obstructing three of the four lanes.
Although no injuries were reported, the tractor trailer did lose quite a bit of diesel fuel – over 100 gallons, in fact. Rescuers requested the Maryland Department of the Environment’s emergency spill response team, as well as the emergency support vehicle, to assist in mitigating the fuel spill.
All the fuel had been off-loaded by 2:30, and fire service personnel cleared by 3:30.
